After getting injured at a young age, Nina became very aware of cross training exercise methods and the importance of strengthening all muscles to avoid injury. This class is based on Pilates principles and is taught in the style of Charmaine Trotman. Using Pilates as a base, it is designed to build stronger, leaner muscles and help achieve a high level of physical awareness by strengthening core muscles.
INA DEACON started dancing in her mother's ballet school "Nancy Whyte School of Ballet" in Bellingham, Washington. She moved to New York City in 2009 to pursue her professional career as a dancer. Since moving, she has danced with ballet and modern and in off-Broadway shows. A few credits include: "Tchaikovsky -- A New Stage Play" choreographed by Nancy Whyte (American Theatre for Actors), and "Still on the Corner" choreographed by Lonné Moretton (Castillo Theatre), and the title role of "Golden Bird" in "Finding the Golden Bird" (Hudson Guild) choreographed by Stine Moen. The female lead of Cocoa Swayze in a funny version of the Nutcracker choreographed by Vanessa Long at the American Theatre for Actors. Dance company credits include "Ballet for Young Audiences" "Linda Diamond and Co." and guest artist with "New American Youth Ballet." Nina danced at the Minskoff Theatre as part of the Broadway Cares benefit, "The Easter Bonnet." Teaching experience includes being a substitute adjunct professor at Barnard College, The New School and teaching in the after school program at P.S. 166.
